Overdose Prevention Team
The Wicomico County Overdose Prevention Team (OPT) is a collaborative effort that aims to develop a unified strategy to reduce non-fatal and fatal overdoses in our community. Comprised of numerous community partners and stakeholders, the OPT addresses the key areas of prevention, treatment and enforcement as set forth by the Maryland Office of Overdose Response which was established by Governor Larry Hogan in response to the growing opioid epidemic in Maryland. Each county in Maryland has formed a local Overdose Prevention Team, and in Wicomico County our team is actively engaged and working towards combating the current opioid epidemic here in our community.
The Overdose Prevention Team currently meets the first Thursday of each month (excluding state holidays) at 9:30am.
