Local Health Improvement Coalition
The Wicomico Local Health Improvement Coalition (LHIC) is a community-based partnership tasked with identifying and addressing public health priorities in Wicomico County. The Wicomico LHIC is led by Wicomico County Health Department, with collaboration from partners and stakeholders from a wide variety of sectors, such as community members, county residents, non-profit organizations, education partners, social service organizations, health care organizations, and many more. Working together expands resources and achieves better results than any single individual or group could achieve alone.

Individuals from Wicomico County, as well as representatives from organizations serving Wicomico County are encouraged to participate. Any interested party may join the coalition or any of its subcommittees at any time.
LHIC Subcommittees
The Wicomico LHIC serves as a steering committee, identifying county public health priorities and overseeing plans to improve those priorities. The Wicomico LHIC delegates the implementation of strategies and other actions to LHIC subcommittees/workgroups.
Currently there are three subcommittees, each representing one of the current public health priorities: Behavioral Health, Chronic Disease & Wellness, and Health Care Access.
