INJURY PREVENTION PROGRAM
Prevention and Health Communications Department
Funded by: The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene & Safe Kids Lower Shore Maryland

Poison Prevention Program: Child and adult education presentations including Mr. Yuk puppet and stickers, interactive games and literature.

Child Passenger Safety Program:  Educational lectures, car seat inspections, and free car seats provided for qualifying families in Wicomico County. Presentations are also available for child care providers, civic groups or any organization interested in learning more about the proper transportation of children.

Safe Kids Lower Shore Maryland is a Tri-County Coaltition of organizations throughout Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcestor counties with a mission of preventing unintentional childhood injury, a leading cause of death and disability for children ages 14 and under.  
The Coalition brings together health and safety experts, educators, corporations, governments and volunteers to educate families, create safer environments and advocate for improved laws to protect children.

Safe Kids Lower Shore members:  
►Teach families about unintentional injury risks
►Evaluate solutions for identified injury risks
►Provide lifesaving devices such as child safety seats and helmets to families who need them
►Promote organizational leadership in child safety through effective and sustainable partnerships
